The Emerging Societies Program (ESP), a joint initiative of the WAO and the ACAAI, in partnership with SLAAI, CMICA and COMPEDIA, successfully conducted its inaugural Allergy Training Workshop as a pre-Congress event of the XV Latin American Congress on 19-20 June. The Allergy Training Workshop welcomed participants from seven Central American Countries, as well as Faculty comprised of representatives from all partners.

Update: 2006 Short-Term Research Fellowship
As a result of his WAO 2006 Short-Term Research Fellowship, Dr. Daniel Potaczek from Poland is now working as a post-doctoral fellow at Juntendo University School of Medicine in Tokyo, Japan, in the department of his Short-Term Fellowship hosts; Prof. Hideoki Ogawa, Prof. Ko Okumura and Dr. Chiharu Nishiyama. The department's work on the FcepsilonRIalpha gene is published in the June edition of the Journal of Immunology.
