The WATS Tbilisi, Georgia was held June 29-30, 2017 in conjunction with the V European Congress on Asthma & COPD, which was held June 28-30 in Tbilisi, Georgia and the IX Georgian National Congress on Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, which was held July 1 in Tskhaltubo, Georgia. The international and national congresses were organized by Professor Revaz Sepiashvili WIPO & GAACI President and Congress President, Professor Tinatin Chikovani, Co-Chairman, Organizing Committee, GAACI Past-present in conjunction with the organizing committees.

More than 55 eager attendees registered for the WATS training school and every session had at least 50 participants from Georgia, Iran, Russia, and Syria. The general congresses attracted over 500 participants from Georgia and the surrounding countries. Each WATS lecture was paired with a practical, hands-on workshop and included:

1) Allergy skin testing and immunotherapy presented by Dr. Dana Wallace
2) Asthma diagnosis and management presented by Prof Ignancio Ansotegui
3) Contact dermatitis: diagnosis and treatment presented by Prof Mario Sanchez-Borges
4) Food allergy and anaphylaxis presented by Dr. Bryan Martin

All WATS faculty also participated in the International Congress and were honored at the opening ceremony. As you can see from the posted photos, this was a very successful and rewarding experience for all involved. We were also able to capture three WAO TV videos with interviews conducted by faculty with WATS participants. We offer a special thank-you to Dr. Gene Cash, Dr. Wallace’s husband, our WAO “photographer and videographer”.
